Cybertruck first in Belgium

The Tesla Cybertruck has turned up on Belgian roads for the first time. A Belgian car enthusiast recently imported the striking electric pick-up from North America. The futuristic Cybertruck immediately attracted a lot of attention, including at a Tesla dealer in Londerzeel. Despite the interest, the visit remained short: the owner quickly decided to sell the vehicle again due to the complications the car presented.

Why the Tesla Cybertruck is rare in Belgium

The Cybertruck is known for its revolutionary design and powerful technology, but faces major challenges in the European market. With a width of 2.2 metres, a length of 5.58 metres and a weight of some 3,000 kg, it does not meet current EU vehicle regulations. It also lacks the mandatory traditional wing mirrors, which is a bottleneck for road admission.

No Tesla Cybertruck for Europe yet

The Tesla Cybertruck is not officially available in Europe yet. Tesla has not announced any concrete plans to homologate the model for the European market. To comply with the European safety standards, would require major modifications, such as adding mirrors and other structural modifications.

Test drive on Belgian soil: limited deployment

The Belgian owner was given temporary permission to drive the Cybertruck on public roads. A test drive along the Belgian coast showed that the truck is especially suitable for wide highways. In urban areas and on smaller roads, the pick-up proved to be less practical and comfortable.

Cybertruck out of Belgium again

Due to restrictions, the owner decided to sell the Cybertruck again. So for now, the model has once again disappeared from Belgium. Or Tesla will one day bring the Cybertruck to Europe in modified form, is still unclear. Still, Tesla dealers hope a European version will be available in the future.
