Roof boxes for Tesla Model 3

Why a roof box?

Extra luggage space without concessions

A roof box - also known as a roof box - on your Tesla Model 3 is the solution for extra luggage space. Because you add hundreds of litres of space, without sacrificing space in the car itself.

Thanks to the aerodynamic design of modern roof boxes, the impact on the driving range of your Tesla remains minimal, depending on model, weight and speed.

Perfect for winter sports, road trips and family outings

Whether you are going on a skiing holiday, planning a road trip or just want to take more stuff with you, the right roof box will allow you to take everything with you without cramming.

For example, do you choose the affordable quality of the Junior FL 320 or Junior Easy 530, it offers 320 to 530 litres of extra space respectively. Take those skis with you!

What to look out for when buying a roof box?

Weight and dimensions

First of all, you have to pay attention to the total weight. The Model 3's glass roof can typically support 75 kg (including roof racks and roof box). So the roof box, carriers and load must stay within this limit. This is especially important when using roof racks that attach directly to the roof itself, such as the suction cup roof racks from TreeFrog.

In terms of dimensions In general, roof boxes with a length between 175 and 215 cm and a width of up to about 85 cm are most suitable for the Model 3. Also the length of the roofbox is important because of the position of the roof racks on the glass roof. Make sure the roofbox does not extend too far forward to ensure stability.

Compatibility with Tesla Model 3

Not every roofbox fits properly on a Model 3. Pay attention to the length, weight, fastening system and whether you have suitable roof racks (often required). With the right roof racks and correct use, you won't risk damaging your roof either.

There are different types of roof racks nowadays; the "classic" roof racks like these from Menabo, but also roof racks with super-strong suction cups like these from TreeFrog. The roof boxes in our shop are suitable for the Model 3 and standard roof racks.

Aerodynamics and handling

A trunk that is too large or wide can affect the aerodynamics, fuel consumption and driving comfort of your Tesla. In general, roof boxes with a length between 175 and 215 cm and a width of up to about 85 cm are most suitable for the Model 3.

Opt for a compact, aerodynamic case to reduce loss of range and wind noise. And this goes for the roof racks too! A maximum height of 40-45 cm is ideal for easy access to car parks and charging stations.
